Splendor Agbaji

Splendor Agbaji is a filmmaker, creative director, visual artist, and the founder of Life of a Creative, a documentary platform dedicated to telling the stories of the people behind creative work.

His journey in visual storytelling began in 2018 as a photographer. For his first two years, he explored both photography and video, developing his creative eye while working with studios and using equipment that was not his own. He later taught himself videography and gradually transitioned into filmmaking, discovering a deeper interest in using moving images not simply to create visuals, but to tell meaningful stories.

Splendor’s creative journey has taken him through different sides of the industry. He has worked as part of an organization, experiencing the structure and stability of working within a creative environment, before eventually moving into freelance work and navigating the freedom, uncertainty, responsibility, and challenges that come with building a creative career independently. Much of his journey has been shaped by learning through experience, working with limited resources, and finding ways to keep creating regardless of what he had access to.

Today, Splendor approaches filmmaking as both a craft and a way of observing people and the world around him. His work is rooted in authentic storytelling, intentional visual direction, and a desire to reveal the human experiences behind creative work. He is particularly interested in stories that go beyond the finished product, exploring the people, processes, sacrifices, challenges, and ideas that make creative work possible.

This perspective led to the creation of Life of a Creative, a platform built around one simple idea: there are countless creatives whose work is visible everywhere, while the people behind that work often remain unseen.

Through Life of a Creative, Splendor documents filmmakers, photographers, designers, musicians, artists, media professionals, and other creatives, giving audiences a closer look at their lives, processes, careers, and journeys. The platform is not built around celebrity, but around people who are actively doing the work and building something meaningful. By bringing these stories to the forefront, Life of a Creative aims to spotlight the often overlooked minds behind the creative work shaping culture and inspire the next generation of filmmakers and creatives to believe that their own journey is possible.

For Splendor, storytelling is ultimately about making the voice of the creative louder. Through film and visual storytelling, he continues to build a platform that connects people with the realities of creative work while documenting the evolving creative landscape of Africa.

His vision extends beyond simply making films. He is building a creative ecosystem where stories, people, ideas, and opportunities can meet, while contributing to a stronger and more visible community of African creatives.

FPV Drone Pilot • Videographer • Filmmaker • Aerial Storyteller

Skywalker

Known professionally as Skywalker, Samuel Benjamin Junior is an FPV drone pilot, videographer, filmmaker, and visual storyteller based in Abuja, Nigeria. He is a creative whose work sits at the intersection of technology, cinematography, precision, and movement, using FPV drones to create dynamic perspectives that traditional cameras often cannot achieve.

Skywalker’s journey as a visual creative is particularly defined by his mastery of FPV drone flying. FPV, or First Person View, requires a different level of control and awareness from conventional drone operation. The pilot is not simply operating a camera in the air. Every movement, turn, acceleration, descent, and change in direction requires timing, coordination, anticipation, and an almost instinctive understanding of the aircraft.

Over time, Skywalker has developed the kind of control that comes from repetition and experience. His ability to fly is built heavily around muscle memory, allowing him to react quickly and make precise movements while maintaining awareness of the environment and the shot he is trying to create. What may look effortless on screen is often the result of countless hours of practice, technical understanding, and an intimate familiarity with his equipment.

But Skywalker’s work extends beyond simply knowing how to fly a drone.

He understands that the drone is ultimately a tool for storytelling.

His approach to FPV cinematography is about using movement intentionally. Whether he is capturing vehicles, architecture, landscapes, events, or fast-moving subjects, he looks for ways to make the camera movement contribute to the visual experience rather than simply flying for the sake of creating an impressive shot. His work demonstrates an understanding of perspective, speed, composition, timing, and movement, all of which come together to create cinematic aerial imagery.

Beyond his work as an FPV pilot, Skywalker is also a skilled videographer. This gives him a broader understanding of filmmaking and allows him to approach aerial work from the perspective of a visual storyteller rather than solely as a drone operator. He understands how aerial footage fits into a larger production and how it can complement other forms of cinematography.

This distinction is important.

A great drone pilot can capture technically impressive footage, but creating footage that actually serves a film, commercial, documentary, music video, event, or branded production requires a deeper understanding of visual storytelling. Skywalker’s experience across both drone operation and videography allows him to approach his work with that wider perspective.

Another important part of Skywalker’s creative journey is his understanding of the business behind the craft.

Being a professional creative is not only about developing technical ability. It also requires understanding clients, communication, workflow, delivery, quality control, and the responsibility that comes with being trusted with a production. Skywalker has developed an understanding of these different parts of the work and continues to approach his craft not only as something he enjoys, but as a professional service and a business.

His workflow also reflects this level of professionalism.

After a shoot, Skywalker does not simply hand over footage and walk away. He takes time to review and work through the footage, including stabilizing his images before delivering them to a client. This attention to the footage after the flight is part of what separates operating a drone from delivering a finished visual product. The job does not end when the drone lands. The footage still needs to be reviewed, refined, and prepared for the purpose for which it was captured.

This combination of technical ability, visual awareness, business understanding, and attention to detail is what makes Skywalker’s creative journey worth documenting.

His work also reflects a broader evolution taking place within filmmaking. As technology continues to change how stories are captured, FPV drones have opened up new possibilities for filmmakers and visual creators. Shots that once required complicated rigs, cranes, helicopters, or other specialized equipment can now be approached from entirely different perspectives by skilled FPV pilots.

But technology alone does not create great images.

The person behind the technology matters.

Skywalker’s ability to control the aircraft, anticipate movement, understand the shot, and translate an idea into a usable piece of footage is what gives his work its value. His craft demonstrates that behind every impressive image is often a person who has spent years developing the skill required to make that image possible.

For Life of a Creative, Skywalker’s story represents exactly the kind of creative journey the platform exists to document. He is part of a generation of Nigerian creatives building careers around specialized skills, developing their own expertise, learning the business side of their craft, and finding ways to turn their abilities into sustainable creative work.

His story is not simply about flying drones.

It is about mastering a craft.

It is about the discipline required to turn repetition into instinct, the understanding required to turn equipment into a storytelling tool, and the professionalism required to turn a creative skill into a career.

Skywalker continues to explore the possibilities of FPV cinematography, videography, and aerial storytelling, creating visual work that brings movement, energy, and a different perspective to the stories and productions he becomes part of.

His journey is a reminder that behind every striking aerial shot is a creative who had to learn how to fly, fail, practice, understand the machine, understand the image, understand the client, and eventually make the entire process look effortless.

Skywalker is a drone pilot. But more importantly, he is a creative who has turned the ability to fly into a language for visual storytelling.

Director Stunch

Known professionally as Director Stunch, Stunch is a Nigerian filmmaker, film director, and videographer whose creative work is driven by a passion for cinematic storytelling and the art of transforming ideas into compelling visual experiences.

With an interest in the visual language of film, Stunch has developed his creative identity around directing, cinematography, visual composition, and the technical elements that bring stories to life. His work reflects an understanding that filmmaking extends beyond pointing a camera at a subject. It involves seeing a story, interpreting an idea, understanding the visual elements required to communicate it, and bringing all those elements together to create an intentional cinematic experience.

As a director, Stunch approaches filmmaking with an appreciation for visual detail, atmosphere, lighting, and composition. He understands the importance of how light interacts with a subject, how different compositions influence the audience's perception, and how visual elements contribute to the overall mood and direction of a production.

For him, filmmaking is not simply about capturing images. It is about creating an experience through images.

The Art of Visual Storytelling

One of the defining aspects of Stunch's creative identity is his interest in cinematic visual expression.

His work spans videography and film direction, with a particular involvement in music video productions. Music videos offer filmmakers an opportunity to interpret sound, emotion, rhythm, and artistic identity through moving images. They require more than technical camera operation. They demand imagination, visual interpretation, coordination, and the ability to translate an artist's musical expression into a visual narrative.

This is an area where Stunch has continued to explore his creative abilities.

His understanding of cinematography, lighting, and visual composition contributes to the way he approaches different productions. From the placement of a subject within a frame to the atmosphere created through lighting, he pays attention to the elements that give a visual production its identity.

He is particularly interested in the relationship between technical execution and creative direction, understanding that the quality of a production is influenced not only by the equipment being used but also by the creative decisions made behind the camera.

Whether working with a camera, developing a visual concept, or directing a production, Stunch approaches his craft with an appreciation for the details that make a film visually engaging.

From Nine-to-Five to an Independent Creative Journey

Behind the creative work is a journey that reflects some of the realities of building a career in the film industry.

Like many creatives, Stunch's journey has involved navigating different working environments, discovering his strengths, developing his skills, and learning what it means to build a sustainable career around his passion.

His experience includes working as a videographer within an organizational structure, where he had the opportunity to understand the demands and expectations of working within a professional creative environment.

However, his journey eventually took him towards independence.

Moving from structured employment into an independent creative career introduced a different set of responsibilities and challenges. It meant taking greater ownership of his work, navigating opportunities, understanding clients, managing creative expectations, and learning how to build a professional identity beyond the structure of an organization.

During his appearance on Life of a Creative, Stunch reflected on this transition and shared his experiences working as a nine-to-five videographer. Interestingly, he expressed that returning to that particular working arrangement was something he would not want to do again.

His experience offers an important perspective on the relationship between creative freedom and professional stability, particularly for filmmakers navigating the realities of the creative industry.

Independence can offer greater control over one's creative direction, but it also introduces uncertainty, responsibility, and the constant need to create opportunities.

For Stunch, this journey represents more than a change in employment. It reflects an evolving understanding of the kind of creative career he wants to build.

Beyond the Camera

Stunch's creative identity is not limited to his ability to operate a camera or direct a production. He also identifies with the broader creative and technological landscape.

His Instagram profile describes him as a creative director and AI specialist, reflecting an interest in creative innovation and the evolving possibilities of technology within visual production.

He is also the founder of Stunch Light Universe Cinematics, through which he establishes a professional identity around cinematic storytelling and visual production.

Outside his production work, Stunch describes himself as someone who is particularly interested in books and personal development. He also identifies as a multilingual individual, speaking three languages.

These interests offer another perspective on the person behind the camera, highlighting that a creative identity is shaped by more than professional skills alone.

The Creative Behind the Work

What makes Stunch's journey particularly interesting is the combination of his technical abilities, creative interests, and experiences navigating the professional film industry.

His story represents the journey of a filmmaker developing his own visual identity while learning the realities of turning creative ability into a profession.

From working within an organization to pursuing independent opportunities, from videography to directing music videos, his journey reflects the different stages of growth that many filmmakers experience as they establish themselves in the industry.

For Life of a Creative, Stunch represents an important part of the creative community the platform exists to document: the filmmakers, directors, and visual storytellers whose work contributes to the entertainment and media landscape, while their personal journeys remain largely unknown to the audiences who consume their work.

His story reminds us that behind every finished production is a creative mind making decisions, solving problems, developing ideas, and constantly refining a craft.

Director Stunch is more than a videographer. He is a filmmaker, a visual storyteller, and a director continually exploring the possibilities of cinematic expression.

His journey is a reflection of what it means to pursue creative independence, develop a personal visual language, and build a career around the ability to turn ideas into visual impact.
